Tenant Council Elections: nominations process
Learn about the nomination process for Tenant Council Elections.
TCHC is calling on tenants to run for a position on their local Tenant Council. The Tenant Council is a space where tenants are encouraged to raise issues, share their ideas, and play a key role in improving their communities. Join the Tenant Council to advocate and represent your community!
Who can be nominated?
To be eligible, nominees must:
- Be registered on a TCHC lease
- Be 16 years of age or older
- Be in good standing (no arrears, disruptive conduct, or eviction proceedings)
- Be a tenant of the community they want to represent
- Not be a full-time employee of TCHC, Resident Key Persons, Rooming House Representatives, or a family member of any of these individuals

Nominations are now closed. Confirmed candidates can now begin their campaigns.

Candidate orientation
All nominees for the Tenant Council elections are invited to attend a virtual Tenant Leader Orientation session. The session will help you prepare for the campaign and responsibilities of the role.
All sessions will be held online. There are three sessions planned:
- Thursday, September 11 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, September 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, September 23 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Registration will close one day before each session. Confirmed candidates can register online.
