YouthWorx
YouthWorx is a comprehensive employment program that focuses on employing young people as Youth Community Workers. The program is designed to reduce barriers to employment for youth.
Youth Community Workers are hired for eight weeks during the months of July and August in various, small-scale labour jobs, including community clean ups, light repair jobs, community gardening and beautification (weed pulling, shrub pruning, etc.) and painting. In addition to employment, youth are also provided with the opportunity to develop as a professional and workplace leader.
2023 marked the 10th anniversary of YouthWorx. Watch the video above to learn more about how the program came to be and how it aims to support communities.
