Regent Park Scholarship
Welcome to the Regent Park 2025-26 Scholarship—where dreams take flight! Toronto Community Housing and Tridel’s scholarship recognizes the commitment of Regent Park tenants who have made meaningful contributions to their community. It is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of leaders by paving a pathway for their academic and career success.
Who is eligible?
This scholarship is available to all TCHC tenants who meet all the following:
- Current or relocated (due to ongoing revitalization) TCHC tenant of the Regent Park community.
- Age 17 and older.
- Tenant in good standing with respect to rent payments.
- Entering or currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution (college, university) or taking training courses from a credible training or academic institution (college, career academy, trade school, etc.) on either a full-time or part-time basis.
- Able to demonstrate a need for financial assistance.
- Able to demonstrate community involvement and/or leadership.
TCHC recognizes that the impacts of anti-Black racism have created negative outcomes for Black communities in Toronto, including underrepresentation in decision-making and access to social and economic opportunities. Through our Confronting Anti-Black Racism Strategy (PDF), we are committed to providing meaningful economic opportunities, such as creating and prioritizing access to scholarship opportunities that Black-identifying tenants can participate in and attain.
Key information
- Applications for the scholarship will close on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.
- Scholarship awards are valued at up to $3,000 for tuition fees.
- A $500 bursary is awarded for books and fees, such as transportation costs.
- Recipients may receive a cumulative maximum of $10,000 (tuition plus bursaries) from the scholarship program throughout the revitalization period, or until funds have been exhausted.
- Scholarship awards are applicable for part- or full-time post-secondary studies. Programs may be in-person, online, or hybrid.
- Recipients will be selected by a panel of evaluators. Winners will be contacted on Friday, July 11, 2025.
- Scholarship awards will be paid directly to the post-secondary/training institution and bursaries will be paid to the recipient upon proof of enrolment.
- Scholarship recipients are eligible to use their funds to pay tuition fees for several terms within one academic calendar year, including Fall 2025 and Winter 2026.

How to apply
Applications for the 2025-26 academic year are now open. There are two ways to apply:
- Print copy: Pick up applications from 530 Dundas St. E. on Mondays and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning on Monday, March 17.
- Online: Submit your application through the online form.

Who can apply for the scholarship?
The Regent Park Scholarship 2025-26 is open to eligible Regent Park TCHC tenants ages 17 and older.
What will the scholarship cover?

How will the applications be assessed?
Applicants are scored using a point system that correlates to the specific mandatory components of the applications. This is why a complete application form is important! Applications are reviewed by an evaluation panel comprised of representatives of Regent Park-based organizations and service providers. Applicant names will be hidden throughout the evaluation process.

I have applied to the Scholarship program. When will I hear of a decision?
Recipients will be selected by a panel of evaluators and will be contacted on Friday, July 11, 2025.
I applied to the Scholarship program, and I have not received my application decision email yet. What do I do?

If I was not accepted into the Scholarship Program, can I submit a request to be reconsidered?
Decisions of the evaluation panel are final. We encourage those not accepted in the current program to reapply next year.
Can I only ask for the bursary?
No, the bursary is only given when you attend a course, and both the bursary and tuition are paid at the same time.
What period does the scholarship season (2025-26) cover?
This season will cover all courses from Fall 2025 and Winter 2026.
For applicants that take fall and winter courses are they eligible for two bursaries?
No, you are eligible for only one bursary for the entire 2025-26 scholarship season.
Can I have the tuition payment paid directly to me?
No, the tuition fees are paid directly to the institution of your choice once an invoice has been provided. The one-time bursary fee of $500 will be paid directly to you.
Can I use the tuition fee to pay for past courses/balances?
No, we can only pay for future courses as stated in the provided invoices from the institution you are attending.
I have applied for this scholarship. Can I apply for other TCHC scholarships in the future?
Yes, you can apply for this or other available TCHC-wide scholarships, such as the Investing in our Diversity Scholarship (IIODS) in the future. There is a cumulative maximum of $10,000 (tuition plus bursaries) per recipient from the Regent Park Scholarship Program throughout the revitalization period, or until funds have been exhausted.
Please note: The application period for the 2025 IIODS closes on Friday, March 21 at 5 p.m.
