Tenant Community Action Table meetings: July recap

In early July, Community Representatives gathered for a series of Tenant Community Action Table (TCAT) meetings to continue the work they started on their Community Action Plans.

In early July, we held a series of Tenant Community Action Table (TCAT) meetings across our portfolio. Community Representatives gathered at these meetings to continue the work they started on their Community Action Plans to address community priorities.

One of the missions of Toronto Community Housing’s Tenant Engagement System is to create a space for tenant leaders to share knowledge and information. The quarterly TCAT meetings also provide an opportunity for Community Representatives to share information about community needs and bring ideas and solutions to the table. They also shared information with each other about the work their individual building committees are doing and different ways they encourage their neighbors to participate.

Community Representatives actively participated in capacity building activities like:

  • Safety: “Build it "Build it Safe - Keep it Safe"
  • Confronting Anti-Black Racism (CABR) – information session on meeting facilitation
  • Community accomplishments and items they are working towards in their communities

Overall, July’s TCAT meetings were a success!  We had many great discussions, activities and ideas on how to make these meetings better. Thank you to all the Community Representatives that attended the meetings.

Your next TCAT meeting will be held on:

  • East: Tuesday, September 26, 2023
  • Central: Wednesday, September 27, 2023
  • West: Thursday, September 28, 2023

We are looking forward to seeing you at the next meeting.
