Statement by Toronto Community Housing

Early in the morning of August 23, 2023, individuals gained unauthorized access to Toronto Community Housing’s (TCHC) corporate offices at 931 Yonge Street. The intruders removed pieces of mail that may have been intended for TCHC tenants, employees and other third-parties that TCHC interacts with. We believe some of the mail stolen contained personal information of the affected parties. The incident is currently under investigation by Toronto Police Service, and the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario has been notified. TCHC is in the process of notifying identified affected parties and is cooperating with the Police in their investigation.
