Regent Park demolition notice: start of Phases 4-5

In preparation for TCHC rental and Tridel market housing, demolition will begin in November 2023 at 319, 325 and 355 Gerrard St. E. and 274 Sackville St.

Exciting news for Regent Park: In preparation for Toronto Community Housing (TCHC) rental and Tridel market housing, demolition will begin in November 2023 at 319, 325 and 355 Gerrard St. E. and 274 Sackville St.

Demolition is a necessary process to make room for new construction. It is a methodical, technical process involving planning and complex tasks by a team of specialized experts trained to dismantle a structure safely and effectively.

This means that there will be times where it appears, on the surface, that demolition work is not progressing because there is no visible teardown of the structure. The team, however, will be tackling the project in a variety of ways. This includes work inside the buildings to prepare the site for demolition.

Work is expected to take up to eight months. TCHC remains committed to being a good neighbour, respecting tenants, and area residents by providing ongoing updates on construction with the community.

Applicant: Toronto Community Housing (TCHC)
Permit Numbers: 23 135236 DEM, 23 135252 DEM, 23 135257 DEM & 23 135224 DEM
