TCAT end-of-year celebration highlights

Throughout the year, elected and/or appointed community representatives attended Tenant Community Action Table (TCAT) meetings to share information about community needs and bring ideas and solutions to the table.

Community representatives in all regions consistently commit to taking action in their communities. They use available resources like TCHC’s Tenant Action Funds (TAF) to support breakfast clubs, art programs, food security programs, afterschool programs and much more. This year TCHC approved 347 TAF applications to support tenants who lead programs and services within their communities.

To thank members for consistently participating in TCAT meetings, representatives gathered in each region for a year-end celebration.

Central region

In the central region, 110 tenant leaders attended and received recognition certificates. Tenant leaders were particularly pleased with the quality of prizes donated by vendors, partners, and politicians as part of the raffle. Prizes included an air fryer, gift baskets and induction oven. Tenants also appreciated the individual acknowledgement of each tenant as they received their certificates of appreciation from Acting Chief Operating Officer, Nadia Gouveia. The smiles on their faces displayed a sense of pride for the well-deserved accolades.

East region

The east region was excited to meet TCHC’s Interim President and CEO, Tom Hunter, and hear about community achievements in 2023. Nearly 90 community leaders enjoyed dinner, danced, and some won great prizes from the raffle. Close to 90 community leaders also received volunteer recognition certificates.

West region

In the west region, more than 100 community representatives attended the event. Community Service Coordinators (CSC) expressed their gratitude to each community representative by sharing stories of their consistent community service and examples of successful programs. Community representatives excitedly danced to the stage to receive their certificates and happily posed for photos with Tom Hunter.
