Statement by Toronto Community Housing

TORONTO, November 16, 2022—Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC) has issued a statement concerning the homicide at 245 Dunn Avenue on the evening of November 15, 2022.

Toronto Community Housing condemns this senseless act of gun violence, which has taken a life and injured three more. The residents of Parkdale deserve the full enjoyment of their community and this violence is unacceptable. We are focused on the needs of our tenants at this time and additional TCHC staff are in the community now, providing support.

This violence should be unacceptable to all Torontonians and we urge anyone with information about this crime to contact Toronto Police at 416-808-2222 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-8477.

TCHC's Community Safety Unit is onsite to assist Toronto Police with its investigation of this crime. TCHC will increase the CSU's presence in the community over the next 72 hours.

245 Dunn Avenue is a 20-storey high-rise apartment building with 384 rent-geared-to-income units. It is located near the intersection of Queen Street West and Lansdowne Avenue. The property is owned and operated by Toronto Community Housing.
