Regent Park to Vote on How $26.8 Million in Community Benefits Will be Invested

Residents will rank three co-designed investment packages that reflect community-identified priorities.

Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC), in partnership with Tridel and the Community Benefits Oversight Working Group (CBOWG), are inviting Regent Park community members to vote on how $26.8 million in Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) funding will be allocated.

The CBA vote is the culmination of a community-led and co-designed process reflecting the voices of Regent Park residents. The three investment packages made possible by TridelTCHC’s developer partner for Phases 4-5 in the revitalization of Regent Parkwere created through a collaborative process with community members and reflect resident-informed priorities.

Starting this weekend (June 14), eligible Regent Park residents will use a ranked ballot to provide their input on how the funding will be used over the next 10 to 15 years. Each package includes funding for core priorities such as jobs, employment supports, and community initiatives while offering different levels of investments for community-identified priorities. For example:

  • Package one: Focus on New Community Space(s)
  • Package two: Focus on Educational Scholarships
  • Package three: Focus on Job Skills Training and Local Business Development

The packages were co-designed by TCHC, Tridel, and CBOWG, with support from subject matter experts at Yonge Street Mission and Toronto Community Benefits Network. Since 2023, more than 1,000 Regent Park community members – both TCHC tenants and market residents – also shaped the process by participating in surveys, community meetings, and roundtable discussions.

How to vote

Regent Park residents aged 14 and older are invited to vote by registering in advance or at in-person voting stations. Voters aged 18 and older will be asked to show proof of residency and age. Voting will take place in-person at voting events. For more information about the packages, voting eligibility, or to view a schedule of community learning about the vote, visit RP4and5.ca.
