Rookie League

Rookie League is a summer long day-camp program for children ages 6 to 12. Toronto Community Housing has run this program for more than 30 seasons to help build strong communities by supporting child development and encouraging teamwork, leadership and fair play on and off the field.

    Rookie League program details

    In 2024, Rookie League in-person camps are running in 15 TCHC communities: 

    Central region

    • Moss Park
    • St. James Town (registration is at capacity)
    • Regent Park (registration is at capacity)
    • 501 Adelaide
    • Lower River

    East region

    • Gilder
    • Gordonridge (registration is at capacity)
    • Kingston Galloway/ Danzig
    • Markham & Ellesmere
    • 400 McCowan

    West region 

    • Islington St. Andrews (registration is at capacity)
    • Mabelle (registration is at capacity)
    • Trethewey
    • Trimbee
    • Jamestown

    Duration:  Every weekday, July 2 to August 15, 2024, excluding holidays

    Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    Cost: FREE for TCHC tenants!

    Activities: Interactive games, exercise, arts and crafts, and learning activities

    Rookie League FAQs

    Will programming be available at every site?

    In-person camp is only available at the 15 communities above and will only be available to families who live in those communities. Spots are limited and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

    Will lunch be provided?

    A bagged lunch will be provided.

    Who will be responsible for looking after my children? 

    Each staff team will consist of Senior Program Leaders and Junior Program Leaders. These staff have all gone through an extensive selection process and have been thoroughly trained on the policies and procedures to maintain a professional manner, acting as teachers and role models to the children who attend camp.
